The Future of Work

After watching The Future of Work, a few things stood out to me.

    1. The beginning of the video got me thinking about how fast we are advancing as a society. It amazes me how far we've come in just 20 years. It's fun to imagine what the next 20 years will produce.
    2. I was really surprised to learn about duel purpose behind the ReCAPTCHA puzzles. What better way to decipher text than to unleash it on the public? It's an excellent way to make a difficult task much simpler.
    3. Our world is constantly overcoming the challenges of distance, and this video shows that point very well. People from across the world are able to work together because of our technological abilities. We are able to bring people together within seconds thanks to technology. That's pretty awesome.

I was homeschooled until middles school, and my parents always included technology in my learning atmosphere. When I started public school, I was immediately aware of the lack of technology allowed in the classroom. My senior year in high school introduced laptops into my Civics class, but that's as far as we advanced. I've really enjoyed college just because new opportunities have been presented to me. This blog being a prime example. We have a vast amount of tools at our fingertips. We need to use them.

    1. I'm curious about how your civic's class used laptops!

Great image to represent the future of work!

    2. Well, my high school got a grant where we could have laptops for every social studies class. Every student was assigned a laptop, and we used them on a regular basis. My teacher actually found a website that allowed us to create characters that ran for political positions. We learned everything that was in the textbook using laptops. It was a really cool way to run a civics class in my opinion.
