3 Things I learned
- YouTube cross examines videos for copyright violations with ones they have in their database.
- If copyrighted videos are uploaded to YouTube, the owners of the original are given the choice of taking it down or benefiting from the publicity.
- YouTube analyzes over 100 years worth of videos every day.
2 Things I agree with
- The ability for copyright owners to choose what stays or goes on YouTube
- The fact that YouTube is working to protect copyright.
My one question
If a copyright owner removes a video from YouTube, the user who uploaded it gets a strike on their account. Would it not be beneficial if the user could submit a request to upload copyright protected videos? That way it would prevent the user from suffering and it would be one less video for YouTube to have to analyze.
